About Dr Alex Edwards

I am an Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) Registered Practitioner Clinical Psychologist. I specialise in supporting neurodivergent children and young people up to 25 years.

I completed my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Royal Holloway University of London in 2008. I have worked across a range of settings including NHS Trusts, Local Authority, Assessments for Court, and within Private Practice. I am a registered provider with Hertfordshire Local Authority for children receiving Education Other Than In School (EOTIS).

I am trained in the “gold standard” of Autism Assessments which includes the Autism Diagnostic Interview (ADI-R) and Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2). I work together with a network of trusted colleagues including Consultant Paediatricians, Speech and Language Therapists, Clinical and Educational Psychologists.

I support children and families through compassion, understanding, and evidence-based practice. I know that reaching out for support can feel like a big step. My aim is to help you and your child feel supported as we work through your questions and concerns together.

I offer a personalised approach, recognising that every child is unique. I will take time to listen to what works best for you and your child, and tailor my support to meet your individual needs.
